The success of your event is directly related to the quality of the speakers. I know what it’s like. As a leadership development coach and facilitator, I’ve planned over 100 events for high-level leaders and hired several speakers for these events in addition to presenting at many of these and other events myself.
Speaking to audiences is a humbling privilege, an honored trust for me. Whether large or small, corporate or non-profit, CEOs, employees,
or difference-makers on a mission, your audience matters to me because I’m passionate about making a positive impact in people’s
lives! I’ve spoken at conferences, company meetings, association gatherings, CEO forums, leadership groups, retreats, schools,
universities, and churches. I’ve presented in the desert, and near 10,000 ft. elevation. I’ve also given training on three continents.
I got my start in the 4th grade when I was the narrator in a school play. I’m pretty flexible!
I’m also a leadership coach. Since 2004, I’ve worked 1-to-1 with over 150 CEOs, business owners, and executives, helping them build value in their organization and multiply their capacity for being trusted leaders who make a positive impact. I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly in leadership and I love helping people stretch from good to great in their role as leaders.
In addition to leading a $350M technical sales team at a Fortune 150 company, I earned entrepreneurial scar tissue by co-founding a software venture, acquiring a retail business, and starting a business brokerage.
I had the privilege of playing on the U.S. National Team and two NCAA Championship water polo teams while earning degrees at Stanford University. I’ve been married to my college sweetheart, Julianne, since 1993 and we live near Denver, Colorado and have two teenage children. I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, investing time with family, and making mango salsa.
In our “Telling” culture, too many leaders have lost out on this zero-dollar, high-impact opportunity to build a high-performance culture. High-stakes benefits proliferate – to the person speaking and the organization – when leaders listen well. In this interactive session, I help leaders explore, experience and express the life-giving, mission-making dynamics of Extravagant Listening. For leaders at all levels who want to get better results and enhance their culture through improved listening. This topic is available in 1-hour keynote and half-day workshop formats.
Abundant workplaces arise at the intersection of high-performance and high-relationship. If you have one without the other, the culture is either mushy or mercenary. In this dynamic experience, I help participants engage in changing their conversations with practical how-to’s. For entire teams who could use help having hard conversations well. This topic is available in 1-hour keynote and half-day workshop formats.
Coaching and visionary styles are the two most resonant leadership styles that positively impact the climate of an organization. Unfortunately, most leaders are not equipped to coach. Oftentimes what they think is coaching is really teaching, mentoring, or consulting. Effective coaching increases sustainable performance by building critical thinking capacity and driving self-generated solutions and action steps by the coachee. For leaders at all levels who want to integrate coaching into their leadership style to increase performance and enhance the culture. This topic is available in 1-hour keynote, half-day workshop, and follow-up session formats.
